Reason I ask is I too posted a question about a recoil pad for the 6.8
But once I shot it I realized it did not need a pad,hardly any recoil at all !

Yes I have shot it and I only weigh 142 lbs and 8 percent body fat. Shooting this in a t-shirt this summer would be more enjoyable with a recoil pad.

 

Do you have a Magpul butt stock?, they make extended recoil pads for some of their butt stocks.

 

No its not a magpul it a Daniel Defense butt stock

is the fit right, length of pull, try playing with adjustment on buttstock, to get ya close put buttpad in crotch of elbow and trigger should be at 1st joint, roughly.
also is buttstock in your shoulder pocket snugly

and/or

i wonder if its over gassed, that will increase recoil impulse. where is your brass landing?

 

Somewhere here there is a thread where a member used a flip flop and made his own recoil pad.

 

That was me. I bought a pair of cheapo size 11 beach flops at RiteAid for about $5. You want the kind that have just one layer of dense foam rubber. There was enough material to make 4 recoil pads. Use your buttstock to trace out the rough size and cut the sandal with a sharp knife or tin snips. Then carefully trim to exact size with a belt sander or sanding block. Apply a generous layer of PVC cement to both the pad and the stock, then clamp in place and let dry for 24 hours. Works like a charm and definitely tames the modest bite of a 6.8 round.

BTW, what got me started on this was the sharp-toothed rear surface of a Rogers SuperStoc. Even though the 6.8 round is relatively low recoil, pair it with a sub-5 lb AR on a hot day and you can definitely feel a sharp plastic edge digging into your thin skin. - CW
