ATN X sights

My experience with ATN is totally different than some of those expressed. My gen 1 had some bugs but as the firmware upgrades came out all of them were fixed. It is now working just as advertised. I bought a gen 2 off of Amazon listed as "As new with a few scratches". When I got it, I started playing with all the features it offers. One thing I did not do was check out the night vision mode. Our night hog season was about to start so I was getting all my gear ready. I thought I would see how the night vision would be. Golly gee wilikers!!! It is very dark and grainy. I contacted ATN's C/S and explained that I had bought it through Amazon and the 30 day money back had long passed. I asked them to give me an estimate of the repair cost. They sent a RMA and I shipped it to them. About a week later, I received a shipping notice. Three days later a brand new scope arrived at NO CHARGE! :D I checked out the night vision and it worked as intended as well as all the other features. Since I was not the original owner and they had no way to tell what had been done to the scope, I never thought they would cover what ever the problem was under warranty. I could not be more pleased with the scope and their excellent C/S.

How about the 4K Pro? I haven't opened mine yet. Main concern is "Made in China"... Is that true of all ATN scopes?

ok, let's go. Just opened the box...

First blush, I like it, seems pretty well build, think I'll ask her to dance.

Hogdaddy, does their IR illuminator come with rechargeable batteries?

I have a xsight 1. I've never had any issues with functionality, though I admittedly never used most of the features just put in nv mode and shot stuff. The main issue I had was weight- new model is much lighter-, the eye relief would give you a nice shiner if u forgot yourself- new one has much better relief. The new one should be much clearer on zooming.. yay! One thing to note is in addition to weighing more than reg scope u will also need an external uv light and possible external battery if u use a lot to limit cycles on internal battery. My xsight one, battery and light weighs more than the lw build 6.8 rifle that it's on... for night shooting animals unless they are small rabbit **** size inside 100 yards I'd rather save a bit longer for a flir pts 233 . If u want to film daytime range exploits the xsight pro is probably going to be awesome. I would like to have one myself but im saving for a new thermal, hopefully by the time I'm ready the software bugs will be no more.

Still in the very early stage of becoming familiar. So far so good (btw it comes with rubber eye relief extension). I'm putting x-sight
on my AR 6.8 also. Hunting hogs in Florida usually means 50 to 75 yard range. uv is external and provided my ATN. Will try tonight (already have one that I used with my Digisight...

What is the difference between the 3-14 Pro and the 3-14 Buck Hunter (besides the $100 price diff)? What does the extra $100 buy in the Pro that the Buck Hunter doesn't have?

Buck hunter is day only-- no nv!

This would seem to be the limiting factor (LimFac) for a night on the town.
For sure, those batts ain't cheap, but the light came with the x Pro at no extra charge, maybe chargeable batteries and charger could keep your weapon up :a16:. I just came in a few minutes ago after testing it. seems to work pretty well at 50 yards. (my back yard)

Would love to see some HD video of possible.

Made one by accident, deleted it but it looked pretty dang good.
Otherwise, The controls are very straight forward. Just like pc menu. Went to range today to sight it in. Very easy. Started at 25, then 50, then 100. All within one inch (more than I usually get with my old eyes). But then at 100 (max distance at our range) I got greedy, tried to get them all touching but at 100 the image is just not good enough at 14x to expect that much detail and I screwed it up. So this weekend I've gotta "get up and do it again" But I'm out of 6.8 ammo for my Mega AR so have to load some more...

Hogdaddy, was it the past issue you read about or the experience with the new product that caused the return?
