Hi folks, just rec'd another case activated lower assembly to use for 223 and 6.8.
6.8 cases wont fit the #12 shellplate like they're supposed to. I've reloaded 9mm w/o a hitch, getting started to do 223, #16 shellplate works ok. Pics shown w/o retainer spring in place. Prbably send these pic to Hornady as well, figured I'd see what you guys thought first.
Any ideas??? Thanks!

The problem I see is there is no bevel on the lip of the plate to match up with the case head. Mine also does not have the line under the number 12 stamp. Please let us know what Hornady says that plate is for.
I would agree its missing the bevel to accept the brass.

Does that shellplate have the 1/4" groove on the underside for the EZ-ject cam? Can't tell from the picture. Swatret is correct also that there is no bevel for the extractor groove in the shell recess on your plate. My #12 does NOT have the underscore on the topside number, and feeds cases perfectly. The current catalog lists the #12 as part #392612, and there is only one 12 in the list. I think you may have one of the old shellplates for the pre-EZject LnL AP.

Let us know what Hornady says.

LNLAP/Pro-Jector prior units.

I have the Older Style and The 12 and 16 sets. I have do not have an underlined number

The box has a 392612 part Number and the boxes are white.

If you do not have any of these I have no idea what you have but the

LNLAP and ro-Jector Shell plates I Have do not have and underlined number.

I called Hornady this morning before leaving for work. The guy say's that they need to see the shellplate to determine what is wrong, if anything. He says that maybe the brass is out of spec...what brand am I loading. SSA I tell him and he states that it might be out of spec... Yeah Right, I'm thinking, knowing the guy is just toeing the company line, and rightly so. The guy says that if the plate is faulty, they'll make it right.
After looking at my other plates, I think the missing beveled edge is the culprit.
The line under the #12 is an id mark of the actual maker is what he told me.
Sent out the faulty plate after work, we'll see what happens.

No, I guess I'll have to load 6.8 on the single until I get this resolved...

Finally got the shellplate in from Hornady yesterday....I love their products, and the cs is helpful and friendly. I just can't believe it'd take 2 mos for me to get it....sans the cover I might add.

Yeah, they ain't Speedy Gonzales. I had the same problem with the free bullets premiums. Took forever. I can only assume its due to the volume of stuff they deal with.

I've had to call Hornady twice in the last ~week, first time was for some extra shell plate springs for the AP(I'm not buying anymore), a powder baffle for my LnL AP PM which didn't come with one, & the new linkage stop for use with the new PTX expander so it doesn't put so much pressure on the PM linkage at full stroke since it takes a little extra pressure with the new PTX, the springs and baffle arrived in 3 days and the back ordered linkage stop arrived today(about a week after the call).

Called them yesterday to get a new caliper(like I needed it) since my first Hornady caliper got dropped on the concrete and no longer would zero at the same place every time(gears got messed up) and to ask if a loading block was supposed to come with my LnL Classic kit I'm putting inside on my new bench since mine didn't come with one like pictured(didnt need that either really), both where put on order(for free) and shipped today via email confirmation.

I've had nothing but quick and excellent service from Hornady and will continue to use them for most of my reloading needs.

The Dillon BL 550 is looking pretty tempting though for a precision progressive press since I don't need the auto primer or powder functions since each charge will be manually weighed and each case primed using the RCBS auto bench primer, basically it would still operate like a single stage but I wouldn't have to swap dies at each step and could finish a round each pull of the press instead of doing it over every time I swap dies with my single stage. I would just get another LnL AP if I could get one stripped down and for $260 but this is the best option I've seen for single stage quality loading but on a progressive press and still be able to do certain things manual and precise where a full on progressive is not needed.

I love Hornady. Checked my #12 and it is GTG. Make a million of anything and you are bound to make one wrong. The true measure of a company is not that they make a mistake, but how they address a mistake once it is brought to their attention.

Hornady is tops.

I am missing the large tube on the case feeder (part #22 IIRC), called and they sent it out ASAP. Bad news is, I guess I wasn't clear so I have the wrong tube. I can't load any .45 without it, so I will run through my .40 and fill an ammo can, then my 6.8, then some .223. It's just a PITA to change the powder when I am using the same thing on .40 and .45.
