I went 04-05 & 09-10. Army reserve Engineer. Pretty much i stayed in a 916 going base to base but on this last deployment our central base was camp styker.

Job site on camp styker

One of our RG33s. We provided our own convoy security. If i wasn't in a 916 then i was a t/c of this thing.

The miserable ride in a c130 to iraq. Damn they need to put some air conditioning in these things.

ah chu living at its finest.

FYI, if you guys will use the shortcut viaa the "quick reply" section your pictures will be larger. Where you find your font color, size, and style etc there is what seems to be a picture frame, two over from the "quote tag" just to the left.

Click it, click From URL, UNCHECK the box on the bottom left, paste the link of your picture (if you are using a pic hosting site, or Facebook) If you are using your comp disregard or upload elsewhere.

That's why I posted that last tidbit..try tinyurl, photobucket etc

or someone can go into the admin section and change the upload size, or maybe that is an issue with updated vbulletin, but way easier to just upload elsewhere if you want your pics larger, if not, disregard.

Iraq 04-05.

This first one is is on Camp Liberty (was Victory North). This sign was posted where 2-1 infantry (1st Cav) drove out of their area. My unit was organized under 1st Cav.

This is in the Al Faw palace.

Here I am with a few buddies in Kuwait on the way home. The fat lady had sung and we were smoking our victory cigars.

My experience was pretty tame compared to some, but I had a few exciting moments...

While I don't have any military experience, I want to thank all those on this site who have served. This is probably going to be as close to combat as I'll get.

who else hated the stupid eagle cash card. They make you get that thing so you dont have cash. Then they invite the locals for a bazaar or you go to one of the local shops and of course all they take is cash. When i was up in Q-west the finance office didnt even have any cash available in the finance office. I use to get my family to send me cash in my care packages so i could buy souvenirs.

I missed this by a few years - like about 38. My sister's son received a Purple Heart when he was wounded in an RPG attack in Falujah in 2008, so the war was very close to home for me. Pushing 16 ICBMs around the Med for several years was pretty easy, and I respect all you folks who walked-the-walk.

This was me doing what I was best at - I'm the handsome fellow on the left.

The army finance people would fly through usually once a month to cash checks for us. Eagle cash is all you can get in Afghan and it is a pain in the ass.

I never deployed to Iraq with the .mil I did go there as soon as I got out in 2005 ans basically stayed till 2010 with some breaks in there, then I deployed to Afghan where I am hanging out now...
