How does everyone like their XDM9's? My dad just picked one up, and I must say I was impressed! It's a sweet shooting gun. Anyone have any problems with theirs? Anything to look out for, known issues?

I have an xdm in .40 and in 9mm. I've put about 500 rounds though the 9mm so far and i'm very pleased. The trigger is great, very smooth with a short reset. Its also nice that it comes with everything you need to get starated in idpa and the like. I'll be using the 9mm next weekend in my first 3 gun shoot. The 19 round capicity should help me out a little.

The 40 I have is the bi tone model with the silver slide. The silver finish is much nicer than the standard black finish. It seems to be much more durable, and less prone to rust.

All in all i'm very pleased with the xdm. I hope they come out with a sub compact in the xdm line. Oh and a xdm carbine would be nice too.

I've got the XDm 9mm in Bi-tone. It's my first Springfield Armory and overall I think it's a great pistol. Got it in late November and I've put somewhere around 500 rounds thru it (before all the cheap 9mm dried up) with no malfunctions of any kind. The extra gear and awesome storage case they come with is a big + and I got 2 extra mags and an additional mag holder free from the promotion SA was running.

I have to differ with sureshot375 on one thing though and it's the ONLY complaint I have...for a supposed "match" trigger this thing SUCKS. Match my ass. From the sheer number of posts over on the Springfield forum it looks like sending these things out for trigger jobs is a very popular after purchase activity. Don't get me wrong, I've felt worse and for a defensive pistol it's just fine. But calling it match grade is a joke.

One other thing, if your thinking of changing the backstraps out I strongly suggest investing in a 3/32" roll-pin punch. That frigging pin is REALLY in there. The proper pin punch won't make it come out easier but WILL keep you from damaging the pin, backstrap or frame. Then make sure it's well supported because you really gotta whack the s*** out of it to get the bugger out.

I can't wait for the XDM in .45ACP...
This would be great.

I currently own an XD TACTICAL .45acp and used to own both the service and tactical in .45....
Sold the service in favor of the tactical and never looked back. I have fondled a couple XDMs and even looked into a G20 10mm... but at the end of the day when I clutch my XD I know that its the pistol for me.

I actually like my XD better than the XDM but I am comparing a .45 to a .40 or .9mm ... I really have to see the XDM .45 before I can be sure...

We cant get them here in Cali anyway so I am forced to have a mixed opinion

Has anyone had any problems with the sights? I have a xd tactical in 9mm and this sucker is 6" left at 20 yds. I took it to the range yesterday and it was doing the same at thing when I got it home I got the sight tapped over a little hopefully that corrects it. But damn 6" :O
