I've got the XDm 9mm in Bi-tone. It's my first Springfield Armory and overall I think it's a great pistol. Got it in late November and I've put somewhere around 500 rounds thru it (before all the cheap 9mm dried up) with no malfunctions of any kind. The extra gear and awesome storage case they come with is a big + and I got 2 extra mags and an additional mag holder free from the promotion SA was running.
I have to differ with sureshot375 on one thing though and it's the ONLY complaint I have...for a supposed "match" trigger this thing SUCKS. Match my ass. From the sheer number of posts over on the Springfield forum it looks like sending these things out for trigger jobs is a very popular after purchase activity. Don't get me wrong, I've felt worse and for a defensive pistol it's just fine. But calling it match grade is a joke.
One other thing, if your thinking of changing the backstraps out I strongly suggest investing in a 3/32" roll-pin punch. That frigging pin is REALLY in there. The proper pin punch won't make it come out easier but WILL keep you from damaging the pin, backstrap or frame. Then make sure it's well supported because you really gotta whack the s*** out of it to get the bugger out.
