The LMT enhanced bolt is suppose to be the best you can buy, I have two on order right now, so I cant tell you from first hand experience if it is worth the money but I trust the guys that told me it was what I wanted, and I think the wait is right around 6 months.....

If I drop a new BCG with bolt into my rifle, will it keep the same accuracy that it has been getting? I know Paulo once posted that if you want true accuracy, you will get a bolt headspaced to a new barrel and have both replaced at the same time, but if I am using the same barrel, and the replacement BCG is top-notch like an LMT (which bolt should be made to exact specs), should I expect the same results as the original bolt / old barrel?

Also, does the chamber matter in this context? Meaning are there any adjustments to be made if I have an SPCII versus a SAAMI?

YOu will be fine with the new bolt. I've never noticed any accuracy difference. There is no difference if you use it on a SAAMI or SPCII Chamber.

There is a good chance yourt head space will change aqs your old bolt has had the lugs compress and flex some. Aslo bolts vary some from lot to lot. Depeidng on how you size your cases for relaoding you may have to adjust the shoulder bump back.. The way to find out is shoot a full power round and measure the case stretch with a hrdy headspace gauge then comapre it to one of yoru old shot unsized cases. That will tell you roughly how much it has changed. 99% of the time you wil be fine but there is always a chance. When tolerance become stacked it can take yoiu over the line. Such as your chamber was already near max headspace then you add a new bolt that ends up being clsoe tot he bottom of its toleance so combined you now headpsace and withthe new bolt you are past the max spec.

Paulo you just had that LMT barrel that was long, over max, on headspace. Now thinking about it I am wondering if it might have been possible that it was the bolt that came wit hit that combined with the chamber being near or at the max gave you over max headspace? wHen you check with the gauges did you by chance try more then one bolt? It might have been interesting.

I checked it with two bolts. My old one and the LMT enhanced bolt and it was the same.

IN LAYMAN'S TERMS, how do you fix too much headspace? I'm assuming (oops) reaming will increase headspace and I doubt you can put metal back in the chamber.

Jeff
You have to send it to a gunsmith.

I have read that LWRC is supposed to be making some bolts available soon. I have one of their early ACB's for 5.56 & it appears to be very high quality.
