Yesterday I was able to put a couple of 5 round strings across a Chrony to compare BVAC against Hornady.

The screens were about 15 ft from the muzzle and I fired a 5 round string with each load.

The rifle was a 16 inch SS 1:10 with the SPC II chamber. The shooting was strictly for velocity comparison.

The BVAC was the 110 gr VMAX loaded in Remington, large primer brass. The Hornady was the 110 gr VMAX factory load. The temp was about 75* and elevation was about 800 ft.

......BVAC................Hornady
......2468.........................2475
......2461.........................2490
......2451.........................2487
......2428.........................2419
......2430.........................2486
AVG 2447.6.......................2471.4

It is strange that the 4th shot in each string was the low velocity for each brand and also that the Hornady load had such a large spread from the high to low velocity on that single shot.

Unfortunately I forgot to take any SSA ammo to test. But that is OK because then I can set things up for more fun using both SSA Commercial and Tactical loads and comparing all loads in this same rifle and my 20 inch SAM-R.
