I just got one. Is there a different spring for the carbine? I thought they were the same. Am I suppose to cut it or something?

Don't cut it. It will fit. It's harder to fit over the detent. I sent you a PM. Feel free to call me.

Best advice I can give you is to use 1 and a half sets of hands. I had my dad help me the ladst time by holding the detent down and it only took a few seconds

I hold the detent down with a curved set of hemostats. Don't cut the spring unless you have function problems after trying it a while. If it works well at full length leave it be.

You don't have to be extremely gentle, wiggle it a little & lift towards the top a bit and it will slide in as it seems to bunch up for just a moment. Removal is similar, push detent down to get it started out and grasp the spring and slightly lift, she should slide right out.
