This probably should be part of my other thread so sorry if this is in bad etiquette but, I can't decide if I should go with the Troy TRX rails or the YHM Diamond set up. I have doubts about the YHM quality based on things I have read, not personal experience. The Troys are $120 more expensive and I just don't know if the extra cost is worth it.

Those of you with YHM experience what is your real feelings on them? If I can afford the Troys should I just go with them or am I being paranoid about the YHMs?

Thanks for your input, as always this place is a wealth of good, reliable and no BS information.

I've used a ton of Troy Rails in the past and really like them and know they work. The new YHM Diamond rails also appear to be pretty nice, but the weight of the Troy rails is rather attractive, especially when the barrel is very light. If it was me, I would get the X-Treme upper with the Troy 11" TRX rails, low-profile gas block, and Troy front and rear BUIS.

I placed an order the day after SHOT, Troy does not know when they will have any. You can order the Troy rail but you will have to wait til they show.
With unknown availability of the new Troy rail, if your build comes up and the Troy isn't available, I'd take the in stock YHM Diamond (hopefully they're in stock  ) and be happy, very happy. If you're getting a top level upper for around $600 you already have hit the ball out of the ballpark.

The YHM rails are lighter then either the LaRue or the DDlite rails. In fact the only rail lighter I know of is the new troy. Both the custom and Diamond are very good rails but for different end uses. If you are looking for tactical the Diamond. ALL the rails for ALL the various companies start out as extrusions from the same alum many from the exact same company(As me how I know  ) They are all then CNC'd. So all this stuff about one rail being that much stronger than another or better etc is a bit of marketing. The two things that can be dif and can make a dif : outer dimensions (rails or not, location, continuous top, etc), how they attach or it they prevent the HG from spinning(all of the ones being discussed have some form of this).

The Troy is a great rail but until I see how they follow thru on orders I can not say for sure your order will not be delayed or for how long. Given how were we given solid dates when our other pars woudl come and they turned out to be BS I am now very are careful. If you ordered a Troy from us and we find out its going to a longer than acceptable time we can switch you to a YHM of your choice and adjust the cost accordingly.
