·Just wondering if you guys know anything about the probable cause(s) of this...
I shot a 'fun style' 3-gun match last month and had trouble extracting the chambered round following the course of fire for each stage, when manually retracting the charging handle. The rifle shot like a dream all through the match, and I had no problems with normal extraction, nor were there any swipes or other tell-tale pressure marks on fired cases. I had to retract the stock, pull back on the charging handle, and smack the butt on the deck to extract the chambered round. There were no obvious marks on those, either.
FWIW, here are the stats on what I was using:
Rifle: Ko-Tonics SPC II 1/11" twist 16" chrome-lined bbl, which Tim had already reamed out following the chroming issue. This one also passed the drop-through test using the little gauge that Paulo so generously circulated throughout the forum.
Ammo: Reloads, fired SSA cases under 28.5 grains of X-Terminator with 100 grain Speer HPs, crimped using a Lee crimp die. All cases were checked for length.
Thanks-
Pat
