Just got this in, the new Texas Boars Terminator Green/Red LED Weapon mounted light
Designed primarily for night time hog hunting which is legal in Texas by Kevin Ryers of TexasBoars.com

It's on my 5.56 with a ADM mount and a Trijicon TR21 Amber triangle 3-9 scope.

the scope and mount will get camopainted to match the new 6.8 upper I have coming in from AR15Performance.com

Up close shot of Terminator light, note that it has a weaver rail on the bottom of it, you simply mount the supplied ring on your scope up side down and then attach on/off via the thumb screw, very clean and simple. (to use on a stand, simply use a 1" piece of PVC instead of the scope and affix to your stand)

ooh.. green and red LEDs (also works as a bloodlight)

close shot from right left side

Battery attched to right side of stock

Right side of gun:

Front view:

Side view with momentary on/off switch (if you want to make it on all the time just use the supplied velcro strap over the switch (tried it))

view from the optical testing platform I built for the kids in the back corner of our yard

Deer are usually out around 100-125 yards, that's the corrider they seem to travel, had no problem seeing them with the scope last night and it was very overcast and dark, completely invisible with the naked eye. will try to get some night time pics (note the bolt is out of the gun for testing)

How about a night shot showing the throw down range? I'm curious about how the combination looks from the operator's end.

I tried to take some pics last night but didn't get any that were worth a crap
will try again, might have to use a tripod and the night setting on the camera

it's from Kevin at Texasboars feederlights
I have his 3 red LED light setup for hunting from a stand and wanted a weapon mounted setup as well

Here's the first unit he came out with, this is the new version and I believe I have the first one

I was looking at buying one of thoes lights for hogs in East Texas.

Do you use both the red and green light at the same time when shooting, or just if you need a "bloodlight" for tracking?

Do the animals notice the light? This is my biggest concern. I am hesitant, I keep thinking that it will make a yellow light that hogs will see.

How long does it run on the battery?

Thanks,
Tim

I have a red only light on my gun and have spotted a hog for 15 mins with it, he could care less. When I take the red lens off he cared. At the time it was on my 22 for racoons, so no shot at the pig ;(...

But as soon as I stopped and waited a bit he came back and I watched him with the red light on , he seemed to not care..

FYI

they can't see the red light and Kevin (the owner of Texasboars) has tested the red/green combo (both are used simultaneously)
for a lot of reading on the subject: http://www.texasboars.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=73

I have used red lights with hogs and they seem oblivious
I tested the red/green combo on deer in the field behind our house, turning it on and off and aiming right at them and they didn't react

I should be hog hunting with it very soon
