This is way more widespread than you may even think. I have first hand knowledge of this because of my line of work. There are many many extremist groups out there in the U.S. Google the Muslim only town in NY. Its a self sufficient compound that has known ties to various terrorists groups. There are dozens more but I can not expand any further. Its scary how many radical groups are operating here in the U.S.

I most certainly do! You would think the act that happened on 09/11/2001 would have corrected this forever in this great country. It's simply amazing how we as Americans allow such things to go on is beyond me. I know that the Constitution was not drawn up by our fore fathers to allow such in this country. It's the "weak minded" far leftist and the "I don't care it's not personally effecting me" Conservatives way of thinking in this country thats going to be the undoing. I'm afraid we have allowed these turds to embed themselves deeply into this country because of how the Constitution has been twisted and it will only be a matter of time before we have one hell of a mess and clean up. I actually thought the clean up would have been much better after 911 but it wasn't. They only knocked the dust off, and to think there are morons in this country that think Terrorist didn't Hi-jack planes and fly them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon! :x

Can you defend yourself? Owning a gun, owning ammunition, going to a shooting range does not make you prepared with the ability to protect what you and the law states you can defend.

All it means is, you have the hardware to deal with a situation; but no software is included.

So what you're saying is that we need to train as well. Been working on that, but there's a shortage of AFFORDABLE training in a location I can actually get to in a reasonable drive. Then there's the "prove to us you're one of the good guys" hassle, then there's the sheer cost of ammo nowadays.

As a blue-collar puke w/ an infant to help take care of, no job (wife makes pretty good $), and trying to lay in sufficient ammo stocks to get through the "Obama Years", I find it a tad challenging to plunk down $400+ for a 3-day course, food for 3 days, travel, and then $300-500 for ammo.

Some 1-day courses that don't cost an arm and a leg, nor blow through a case of ammo would be just the ticket for me.

I completly agree with you and it should be onthe same scale as them. But if that were to happen we would be viewed as extremist and would be shut-down and incarcerated and crucified.

I also agree with billco the availability and overall cost is determining. My wife was just told last night that she was included in the coming layoffs. We are a two income family. We will survive and she will find another job. (Dont know when) but this puts a damper on things.

Guys,

Do not miss my point here. Training can be all types. Even using a 22lr. Shooting is shooting no matter the caliber. No one needs to use a .223 or 6.8 SPC all the time.

With that, trigger reset, positional, stance, sight alignment, sight picture can all be worked on with a 10/22 FACTORY SETUP!!!!!!!!

Or go get a 22lr AR-15 upper. Same cost as getting a factory 10/22 a good stock and a reflex sight.

Training is training, you do not need to go to high cost classes, just go a fundamental training class on the subject you want to learn about. The best shooters in the world do nothing but the fundamentals very well.

A 500 rnd brick of 22lr and a rifle will teach you more than the most high end AR-15 and no ammo.

How do you defend against a man, or car, packed with explosives that blends with the population. Just a matter of time. All the guns in the world won't do any good. The Israelis got pretty good at profiling them and it's worked, but since it's so politically incorrect here I don't think we can count on it happening here.

You learn how to spot those kind of things... but to be honest if it starts happening on our streets I think you will see retaliation on an overwhelming scale... I for one am not going to stand by and that who "moderate or innocent muslim" thing will be thrown out the window....
