Hey guys,

Maybe some of you will be interested in this, maybe not. I figured I'd put it out there. I sent my 6.8build parts out to be coated at Tarjac. This company has done some cool stuff. They did the OCC chopper built for the Army Natl. Guard and did the football helmets for the Army for the Army/ Navy game.

They have a lot of different patterns: digital camouflage; Realtree camouflage and several other different patterns too.

I sent them my upper/ lower receiver, DD rail and my Leupold CQT scope to get coated. I am still waiting for the return on these. I think they are pretty neat. I was checking on the Duracoat coatings for the camo patterns and as far as the cost vs. headache aspect of it, and it was a no brainer. It cost my $200 to have the listed parts coated vs., what it would cost me to buy the camo kit for the duracoat and the sprayer and other things needed. Not to mention the other work that maybe involved. (maybe I'm just lazy:a01:) I'm not knocking Duracoat, I used their Durabake on some of the small parts I have and it worked great.

Anyhoo, here's some of their patterns they have available and some of their customer examples:

Most definately! It's probably why it's taking a little longer than the 15 days Susan said it would. That and I had some specific things I wanted done too.

What is their pricing like? We have a local gun shop that 'dip prints' all kinds of patterns, they run about $250-300 for a complete AR-15. I'm considering doing it for my hunting rifle but don't want to hurt resale value, I think it actually would help its value but...gotta sell off some more stuff before I can spend any more $$$ right now.

I sent them my upper and lower receiver that were stripped, the fore end with the locking ring and a Leuplod M4 CQT, in all was $200 plus $15 for S&H.

She's great to deal with, and good about answering emails too. I sent her one about 20 minutes ago and she has already replied. Everything is supposed to be heading out the door today!!!:a04::a04:

She's good people. I am sure if they don't have a pattern listed either, they can get the specific one you want as well. I sent them the MARPAT woodland digital camo pattern I wanted and they said they had it. I am waiting for it to return with much anticipation.:a01:

Fire her an email, she'll be glad to quote you.

Brush Country Camo has been one of my favorites since I was knee high... It blends in sooo well with my ranch... Having an AR completely done in it would be badass... :a44:

Well, I turned over the upper and lower to get all the guts put in, and the ejection port cover and forward assist on. My department armorer will be taking care of this. he was impressed with the film coating.

It shouldn't take him more than a day to do it. Then hopefully Constructor can pencil me in for the ARP piston system:a44:

Sure thing, we will probably only make 100 to start with but by the looks of the orders that should last a couple of months.

Updated finished build:

Thanks H. Now I gotta get out and start shooting. I gotta get a day when it's not raining, snow blowing, below freezing and all the other crap weather associated with December in NY:a42:
