Key phrase: "supposed to be"...for the most part they never have been and never will be in the current system...that's been an illusion since the beginning. The only thing she did was F-up and give us all a little peek behind the curtain (so to speak).

I highly recommend reading this book for anyone who hasn't: https://www.amazon.com/Hologram-Liberty-Constitutions-Shocking-Government/dp/1888766131

The Supreme Court appointments are very political. As such, it is no big surprise they also are very political....usually behind the robes.

It will be interesting to see if she will be able to withstand the controversy she has generated.

Yes, yes and I can't wait until she has to recuse herself on a case related to Trump when he gets in the WH.

Why should she care? SCOTUS Justices are pretty much untouchable.

Yes, but generally they have had the common sense to keep their opinions to themselves as it can cause turmoil if they are perceived as biased. In this case, Ginsberg simply reveals her true self as the partisan hack she has always been.

Since slick Willie got caught with the DNA stain it has served to be a constant erosion of the greatness of this country. Between that and all the spy's giving up the secrets that were protected since the 1950's. McCarthy was right.
The power of industry and innovation now gone if attacked it will come down to us. The largest standing army in the world.
The court is all that is left, remains of our republic. The Presidency has been compromised for years. Congress is corrupted by money and the general public is being hoodwinked by the press.

Anyone here old enough to remember President Eisenhower going away speech?

The one where he warned Americans NOT to let the Military Industrial Complex take over and control The United States?

He was the first to use that term. Not the hippies.

War is good for business. But, bad for Patriotic Americans who volunteer and serve.

She is generally viewed as belonging to the liberal wing of the Court. Before becoming a judge, Ginsburg spent a considerable portion of her legal career as an advocate for the advancement of women's rights as a constitutional principle.

She is a 83 year old who is trying to rewrite the constitution, appointed by Slick willie says it all.

The politics of every member of the USSC are pretty well known; it comes out in their opinions after all. But, it has always been the tradition (as well as part of their code of ethics) to not speak of such things publically. Ginsburg definitely crossed the line with her comments, not once but three times. Once could've been a slip of the tongue, but three times shows beyond doubt it was deliberate.

Trump's reaction was justified, and he was right when he said she has lost her mind. Even the New York Times sided with Trump, along with many other high ranking Democrats. I think this will help him a good bit.

To me apologies don't mean anything. She said
what she felt. No one will remember the apology.
Just like in court, the judge says strike
That comment from the book. Doesn't matter
it's already been said.

She apparently does not believe in the Holocaust or she would not be so liberal. Or is it that Liberal is a code word that the Socialists hide behind?

she has just issued an apology
That was not an apology. It was a "oh crap, somebody noticed what I said" statement. Apologies generally include "I'm sorry" somewhere in the statement, in some form anyway.

She has created a situation where, if Trump becomes president, she might have to recuse herself or even disqualify herself in order to preserve the appearance of neutrality and impartiality of the court. That can alter the way decisions are made going forward if she does, and even moreso if she doesn't. In effect, she just threw a big-ass rock in the gears. Whether it was intentional or inadvertent, it impinges on her judgement as a Supreme Court justice.

As the Japanese proverb goes, "words are like arrows, once released, they cannot be recalled". She should resign, of course she may be too senile to realize that she is senile.

Even if it was, I am so tired of these left wing whackos thinking they can say or do what they want and then just apologize and it will be ok. What have we become as a nation, a bunch of damn 3rd graders. You hear the libtards saying that words have meanings. I guess it just depends on who is saying them right.
For instance, the Attorney General after having a clandestine meeting with the husband of someone she was investigating saying, ooh, I know it was wrong and I'll never do it again and our favorite former SOS basically saying the same thing about her BS private email server. It is time to bring back the guillotine.
