I would not go that cheap in a scope for your Stag. In the Bushnell line go with at least a 3200 or better yet a 4200 model. Optics are not the place to cheap out on as you get what you pay for. The Leupold Vari X 2 or 3 is also a good mid range scope. I'm using the Bushnell 4200 and a Burris Fullfield on my AR's but I wish I could afford a Nightforce or one of the high end Leupolds. 8)
I agree with Bushdog...the Trophy series is a cheap scope that is not nearly the quality of a 3200 or 4200.
There are also some good deals on Nikon Primos variable 3-9X scopes on SWFA for $199.99. These are closeouts on last years Monarch scope under the Primos private label. A lot of scope for the money.
The only cheap line of scopes I use is sightron. I have a friend of mine with a M1A NM and he installed a sightron S-1 3-9x40 Mil-Dot. It held up to the .308win casings knocking the paint off the windage knob. So its a good low quality optic to try.
After hearing a lot of good things about the sightron brand I ordered the III version with a 3.5-10X with mil dots..... All I have right now is a picture but once I get to test it I will give a report.
