I heard a rumor the other day that SSA was looking at moving to Washington state, I heard they were not being allowed to expand at the current location and that Washington was offering incentives to sweeten the deal. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I'll buy a few extra boxes of 85gr TSX from em if they move to Texas. Now that's a hell of a deal. And they can start putting candy back in the packages.

I would work for them if they moved to South Texas! :a01: If not I would open up a branch plant for when we secede and make the 6.8 the official caliber for the Republic of Texas Army.

And a 6.8 in hand should get us into the new republic without any other type of passport.:a01:

What would a move like that do to their shipping costs? :a42:

Perhaps it is to good to be true. The source seemed very knowledgeable and also claimed a underground range was planned for the new site. I know some of the SSA guys are on here so I thought it would be a good place to ask.

SSA does have a man up in that part of the country so it might be possible.

I think any firearm and a good definition of FREEDOM should gain you entrance. Not everyone can afford a 6.8 mini or AR, but a good sense of freedom and a willingness to defend it with your life is good enough for you to be my neighbor in the New Republic of Texas. :a01:

Here's a link to an article from Lewis County Washington. http://www.chronline.com/articles/2009/08/14/news/doc4a85a4f92a33d971651542.txt Below is a little of the article.

" A Nevada-based maker of rifle ammunition is relocating to Packwood, and ultimately hopes to employ as many as 50 individuals in the East Lewis County community.

The announcement on Thursday wasn't a surprise to some in the business community, but allowed them to talk openly about what it could mean for the area.

"We lost our mill in 1998 so it's been 10 years since we've had manufacturing jobs in Packwood," said real estate broker Maree Lerchen, who's lived in the area for more than three decades. "So it's a pretty big deal."

Jeff Kannada, one of the three owners of Modern Arms Co., was introduced Thursday morning at the general membership meeting of the Lewis County Economic Development Council.

The small business makes intermediate caliber cases and ammunition which it sells to dealers and distributors, directly to consumers and also for law enforcement and the military. Its product is called Silver State Armory."

Eh, if you're wanting Pro Hunters, get them from Sportsman's Guide. Avoid the tax and if you're one of their cool kids, it's often cheaper than SSA direct anyway.

(i.e. From SG, as low as 83 cents/shot. Closer to 97 cents/shot from SSA.)
Yeah, buying bulk from sportsman's guide is definitely the way to go. I got 400 110gr prohunters last month for $16.60 a box. My local gun store was trying to sell them for 27.99 a box! What a joke! Sportsman's Guide offers some great deals on SSA ammo, and that should save you the trouble of your state tax anyway.

Sure do! My order from them arrived today, one day early. No candy in the box but maybe that's because I've been bugging Nancy every month about the new plinking round. Hope they get that one out before they start packing up!
