So I have pondered this and have kept seeing intermittently folks setting up uppers in 30 hrt and I'm kinda curious where I may be able to find one. Preferably in 12.5" barrel.

You will need to have it made custom with a carbine gas system. A mid length will not work on a 12.5" barrel.
Try Paladin Machine in Kershaw SC, hopefully he has a 30HRT reamer with a shortened freebore not a typical 30 Herrett pistol reamer.

No. I know Paladin was making them for Marty Terweem who was the first guy to do it around 2007.
There have been several guys who thought they knew what they were doing try it but they just purchased 30 Herrett pistol reamers which had a very long neck and freebore so the accuracy in an AR limited by the mag length was bad.

Paladin did mine for me. He does excellent work. Buy a case gauge if you buy a barrel. You will need to know what size gas port you want.

White Oak Armament chambered a 30 HRT for me a couple years ago.
