Got this guy this morning, been threatening to break out the old M1D and whack a deer with it so, opening morning seemed like as good a time as any. 50 yards, center neck with a 150 grain Hornady American Whitetail, bang flop, not so much as a twitch.

Congratulation on the deer! I was just wondering what would be a good round to hunt with out of my Garand. Thanks, now I know.

It shoots about 2 MOA at 100 with those, hard to ask much more out of an 80 year old rifle.
