I'm thinking about my next build and I want to start off with the SMOS/LaRue billet lower receiver. LaRue is going to be a...insert your own expletive here...and only sell their version to rich people (no disrespect) who've spent $1,200 on their complete Stealth upper. I saw that Anchor Armament still has the SMOS version on their site. Does anyone know if there's a way to get that lower receiver without having to drop the majority of a years worth of savings on LaRue's Stealth upper?

I'm in the same boat, I have a stripped Stealth upper and really want a stealth lower to go along with it, I just found some nice Noveske lowers and am going to use them, anyway I am under the understanding that LaRue will sell their lowers to the rest of us after they catch up on those that have ordered one that already own their uppers.

Oh...well, that's good news. I just hope they catch up before...well...you know!
If you have a stealth upper already than you should be able to order one now...right?
SMOS doesn't sell their original version any more?

While it's not a billet lower, the MEGA lowers are very well machined and should be a bit easier to get your hands on than the LaRue. If you luck out you can get a matched stripped upper and lower unit. If LE/Mil Brian from MEGA may be able to hook you up.

Just a thought. I post this because IMHO, while LaRue has every right to operate his business in his way, I lean far from companies who use practices such as those meant to lock the customer and force loyalty.

Good luck.

Take a look at the Tactical Innovations TBX-15 Billet Lower, it is machined from 7075 just like a forged lower but all the clean lines of a billet. It even has the integrated winter trigger guard like the SMOS. They are also no as spendy as the LaRue or have the restrictions of already owning their upper. I purchased on in Nov after the election for a second build I was forced into and it is a nice piece. The machining is very detailed and nice lines, it will be mated to a Vltor MUR-1A upper. Give it a look I know Rainer Arms carries them or you could buy direct from Tactical Innovations like I did. I had to wait almost three months because of the tidal wave that resulted from the election. Hope it helps

Since my upper is stripped and not complete I can't get on the list yet. I don't like how they are doing it, but I do understand that the people who dished out for a complete upper should get first shot.

I saw the Billet Lower from Tactical Innovations and I liked the look of it but didn't want to spend that kind of money. This was at the last local gun show and the price was $275 for the stripped lower. If the wife realized what I have spent on this 6.8 sickness I now have she would cure me real fast. :D :D :D

Just checked Rainier Arms and they are out of stock and listed price is $280.

You could go with the TI forged lower for $175. EDM'd magwell, same machine work, only thing you really miss is the built in trigger guard.

BOHICA ARMS is the go to for 7075 billet lowers with the integral trigger guard and tension screw! since the tactical innovations 7075 billet receiver is too expensive just like the american spirit arms one.

PRIMALRIGHTS.COM...
Bohica Arms has developed this lower to meet a growing demand for quality "in-spec" lowers. This CNC machined lower starts out as a solid chunk of high-grade billet aluminum and is transformed into a precise, sturdy, and visually stunning lower receiver. The magwell is Wire EDM cut on the new SODICK at Bohica Arms. It combines all the things you want in a lower into one cost-effective package:

CNC Machined from solid billet aluminum
Flared magazine well
Fully reinforced design
Integral trigger guard
Stronger than cast, forged, or polymer lowers
Multi-Caliber marking to ensure versatility
Takedown pin tension adjustment

I took a look at those lowers and they look alot like my Tactical Innovations one. I mean a little too similar, the price is almost too good to be true. I did not see on the web page where they called out what type of aluminium they were using. For the price its hard to believe they are 7075 but what do I know. They are very nice though thanks for the info on them

I just bought a $1200 staelth upper from LaRue, but i know a FFL dealer with 4 or 5 stripped LaRue Lowers on the way. Granted, it will take so many months, but i'll have one soon, and i know my FFL will sell them to whoever :)

LaRue knows how to bring loyalty to his customers and how to gain their loyalty. He's got mine, and it resulted in me buying one of his uppers.

Not meant to start a pissin match. I would never tell you how to spend your money, only suggest another option. Just as I would expect you to respect my opinion, I respect yours.

Has anyone here had dealings with Primal Rights before? They say they need to charge my cc now in order to be put on their list for their lowers that should ship june 1st. Does that sound Ok to you guys?

Gary
Nope, doesn't sound ok. Lowers are catching up with demand (finally), there should be no reason for them to do that. I saw a lower yesterday for $90 (new), so clearly supply caught up with demand, or demand has slacked off (http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Receivers.html).

I'd definitely find someone else to deal with.

Agree with snort. That does not sound right. Aimpoint has them for that price and look at Anvil Arms that canship now from a reputable company. There are many places to look at especially right now. Try Legal transfers on ARF com.
And I bet there are some other companies I am missing.

It will authorize and hold for a couple days then fall off... it will then come out of the account when the upper ships in june or so...

PrimalRights.com is a company started by the moderator of the bohicaarms forum. He is also Chris' right hand man of sorts. He sells aftermarket products for the BOHICA and ar15...mainly all steel buffer tubes...jard triggers...modded bolt catches and the steel single shot lower and billet multi cal lower.... HE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU
