The "why" isn't all that important, but since I don't own one, can anyone take a little time to post up some specific receiver dimensions?

First thing I need to know is:

Measurement of Six8 PMAG - rear to front, and width.

Then I need to know the inside magwell dimensions - rear to front, and width.

Then I need to know the outside mag well dimensions, rear to front, and width.

Thanks!

Unfortunate reminder that LWRC has yet to release their Six8 specs as had previously been discussed. I wonder if anyone could pry it out of them? https://www.lwrci.com/contactus.aspx

Mark, If you can get access to a lower and know someone with a coordinate measuring machine you should be able to get pretty dang close sir.
I don't have either or I'd help.

Just curious, if someone reverse engineered a set of Six8 receivers and sold the resulting product under their own name, would LWRC raise objections? They were explicit in the beginning about inviting other makers to follow in their footsteps, but to date, no one has.

Personally, I'm dreaming of a set of DI receivers designed for the Magpul magazines but optimized for lightest weight. A 600 to $700 cost would not be an issue for me. When you get right down to it, our AR-building, shooting and reloading hobbies are not particularly expensive compared to boating, skiing, flying, etc. - CW

When they're back in stock, why couldn't you get a Siix8 DI receiver set and send it to someone to start optimizing and put them on a diet? (I don't know how it works, jsut suggestion).

Two comments to make here, one is funny.

1) Talking about SS mags while everyone was wanting PMags for the 6.8. LWRC designs the six8 and now everyone wants SS mags. :a08:

2) LWRC needs to make sure that their six8 dimensions are secure with patent to keep scumballs from copying them and then filing for a patent like others we have seen.
