It's a long winded story with total chaos! let's just say I was still hunting the big woods of Maine when 8 does ran this buck by me at 15 yards! Dropped him 1 shot, and he was hauling ass, from my 6.8 SPC 110 Accubond reloads. Not my heaviest buck but my best rack.

My Aunt from South Carolina came up to hunt she had to pose with my buck.

By the time they got to where I was I had already dragged it about a 1/2 mile off the ridge i shot him on to a blueberry field. I was smoked!

Congrats on a fine buck. Fresh venison can't be beat. Nice seeing a man care well for the meat (with all that ice). Well done.

Lol They are shooting some beast in Maine so far! Heaviest one I've seen so far is 268 pounds dressed no heart liver or guts weighed with them.

Thanks all for the replies. I've been busy, now I'm focused on putting one in front of my wife. We have fun hunting together and she is awesome enough to still hunt miles and miles with me.

I've never seen a Whoopie Pie, let alone tasted one... but, from the looks of that pie, and the look on your mug, I'll bet they're TOO good ! You'd better find her a GOOD buck and earn that Whoopie Pie.

Wicked awesome buck and not just for Maine! Congratulations! I only got a little guy this year, about 130 lbs. My good buddy got himself a 248 lb spike horn, he he thought it was a doe and to use his doe tag because the horns were only about 2"! LOL

It's at the Taxidermist now. A guy shot this buck not too far from where I shot mine. Maine produce some pigs this season!

That's impressive! Looks like it has moose DNA! LOL

My buddy just sent me this pic from mid-coast Maine.

He was out during muzzleloader season and when he shot this deer it was an eight point buck. When he found it, it was a four point buck, it lost 1/2 of the rack. By the time he got it to the tagging station, he had to tag it as an antlerless deer. It had lost the other side on the way!
