For you gurus out there and those shooting suppressed, does the 6.8 stablize when shooting sub sonic? Just trying to figure out how the round will fair and if I will have to worry about baffle strikes.

Thanks!

I haven't actually started using the 6.8 yet, but I do shoot a 300 Whisper. In general you want to use a heavy for caliber bullet, then you have to find a powder that will burn well, but give you the sub sonic velocities that you want. In Whisper that mean using anywhere from 150gr to 240gr .308 projectiles with either a pistol powder or a really fast burning rifle powder. I use mainly Hodgdon H110 and Accurate Arms 1680. Also, in order to stabalize those bullets, especially and sub sonic velocities you need a fast for caliber twist. I have a 1:8" twist on my whisper.

So in other words, while you might be able to load it subsonic, the twist that is optimal for shooting the lighter bullets super sonice, may not provide enough stability for sub sonic.
