Nice gun. Mine is blued, about 15 years newer, has a Wolff 14lb spring and a Burris 2x scope. Tried the same Hogue grips years ago, but didn't like them and went back to factory.

Don’t know whats been done to the trigger on this one, but it’s as good as any Colt or S&W I’ve ever seen. The older gentleman I bought it from said he had the trigger worked right after he bought it, but doesn’t remember what was done. It’s been forty years, so I can understand. He only fired it 25 times in all those years. He gave me the rest of the box of ammo, but the brass was so corroded that I’d never fire them.

I've settled on two loads, I mostly shoot 10gr blue Dot under a 240 plated, also 240 jhp on 24gr w296/h110.

I’m planning on working up some lighter target loads with CFE Pistol. Got H110 and 2400 for the serious stuff. Got some 300 grain coated from Missouri Bullet Company that I’m gonna try. They should be an excellent hunting bullet.

Very nice indeed. I believe the Redhawk is a one of a kind gun in the revolver world, how many other guns, besides the single shot contenders ( very different kind of gun) with reloading sections specific to that gun? Rugers, mostly, are built like tanks.
I have a SS 5.5" 44mag and I love that thing. When Im jonesing for horsepower I load for the Redhawk.

Macassar ebony grips made by yours truly. This was also right after I refinished the gun itself.

I know a guy that he and his dad have consecutive serial number Redhawks and one also has a Super Redhawk. Beautiful pieces of workmanship.

The more I shoot this Redhawk, the more I like it. I’ve yet to find a load that it’s not accurate with. Even the 300 grain loads are tolerable because of this revolvers weight. I’d prefer a bit shorter barrel, but it is what it is.

Ive done a full action job on mine and its amazing. The trigger is super crisp and very smooth. Anyine whi Ive ever let handle this gun simply cant believe how nice the action is.
I disassembled the Redhawk down to the absolute bare frame, and I mean every single microscopic spring and polished every metal-to-metal contact point. I used the PowerCustom Series 1 stoning jig to polish the trigger sear using an ultra fine ceramic stone and stined the sear to a mirror shine with a knife edge so now there is zero creep and the break is like snapping an icicle. There is no push-off either, just a really crisp snap and then a bang.
I used to think a Ruger action couldnt be enhanced to the same degree as a S&W but I no longer hold this belief. It just takes a bit more effort and work. Oh, the springs, all factory.
