The main questions to ask are these.
1. How much money do you have to spend?
2. How will this optic be used?
3. What are your shooting needs?
4. What are your goals and how can a riflescope help you get your goals met?
Once you cover these four questions, then we can go deeper. IF your goal is to shoot F-Class @ 600yds a fixed 10x with a Duplex reticle works GREAT!!!!!!!
In you want to shoot F-Class @ 600, 800, 900, 1000yds you might be better served with a I.O.R fixed 16x.
If you want to shoot tactical style matches, a fixed 10 or 16x will not work as well as a 3.5-10 variable.
