I just bought up some reloading supplies at my favorite gun store. Fortunately they are starting to catch up on their inventory
that was depleted due to the recent run on ammo and reloading products. I am going to start reloading with some 7x and 10x powder I picked up today. I have done some searches on this forum on reloader 7x and 10x but I could really use some more information about these powders such as:

How does 7x compare to H4198 and is it best used for 90 grain bullets?

How does 10x compare to H322 and what size bullets are best for this powder?

Are these powders accurate and are they temperature sensitive?

I have a mini-14 with a 10-1 saami barrel and an ar-15 with an 18" spec 2 1-10 barrel. What would be some min and max loads
for 90 to 110 grain bullets for these rifles.

I know I am asking for a lot of info, but these powders do not seem to have nearly as much information on them as the
Hodgdon powders do. Any help would be apprecieated.

Someone with more experiance will come along shortly I am sure but RE7 workes well with the 90's in short barrels (16 and less) and the 85 TSX's. 10X is great for 100 grain bullets and up and for those 90's in the 20 inch barrels. they are temp sensitive though as compared to the H322 and H335.

For min and max loads it will depend on what kind of bullets you are planning on using.

For most the Hodgdon is usually more accurate than Alliant. You can get more velocity with 10x over H322 but you may sacrifice accuracy. Some are getting more velocity from the H4198 over RE7. I use RE7 for 90 tnt's and 85 gr TSX. Used 28.5 gr RE7 with 85 gr TSX's and got some tight groups with my 1/10 barrels. 29.0 gr of H322 seems to be a sweet spot for most 110's.

What kind of velocity is everyone getting with 29g of 322 and 110 pro hunters? I've had better accuracy out of 10x so far. I just want to use 322 because it is more temperature stable. When it gets below freezing I don't want a big velocity drop.

0.704" x 5 shot @ 2591fps. 0.774" x 10 shot group @ 2569fps avg. I haven't had a chance to try these w/RE10x yet, but every other load where I've tried both RE10x and H322, the H322 was about 175-200fps slower. Pretty big difference.

ETA: 18" WOA SPC II bbl.

I am new to reloading and am curious if I can use the 28.5 gr RE7 for the Barnes 85 gr TSX Tactical LE rounds? I am using the Stag Model 5 with 16" BBL. What brass did you use for the 85 Gr and what primers? I have some Large Magtech and CCI primers and would like to use brass that uses Large primers if possible. we all know how difficult it's been fiding reload equipment.

Thanks,
T-

Used SSA small primer brass with CCI #450 primers. You get more velocity out of the small primered brass. I ran the 28.5 gr RE7 thru my 1/10 4 groove Armalite and showed no pressure. HTR just found that 29.5 gr of RE7 with an 85 gr TSX is pretty much the sweet spot in most barrels. Start at 27.5 and work your way up checking for pressure.
