Looking to get a red dot sight for my wasr-10. Im not looking for anything fancy but not cheap either. I would like to keep it under $100 if possible. I have a UTG quad rail on its way that I would be mounting the sight to.

Can't say as I know one right off. I have a dovetail on the side of mine so I went with a low power scope of Pact origin.

In my humble opinion the best red dot for an AK is the Kobra site made in Russia and issued to Speznas troops.

It is durable as a tank, well designed, uses four different reticles and has adjustment dials to allow dialing up for shots at distance.

They offer two styles...the military version with quick change side mount dovetail ...or a weaver base for a four rail.

They can still be found for under $200 if you search....but many charge outrageous prices because of their popularity and limited availability.

I love mine. I have two of both styles with no failures and no issues.

I second Owenslee on that opinion. Since you're getting the railed gas tube, it'd be good to get the weaver version and set it up on the tube. They make them for the side rail also, but those are too close to the face for my taste. My other reccomendation would be to find one of the mini red dots like the Doctor sights. I don't know any of them that are in your price range, but for the application, they are really light weight and do not obstruct you FOV like the larger counterparts do, which makes them great for an AK in my opinion since you don't want to add a lot of weight to it.

I'd also suggest one of the POSP scopes (4 power or less, it is an AK afterall) to mount on the side dovetail. They're relatively inexpensive and also tankishly durable. Although the AK isn't as accurate as most other platforms, it's not as inaccurate as some toute. A low power scope to get you out to about 250 would be useful. I've an old Nagant type scope on mine (on a picatinny adapter for the side dovetail). At 3.5 power, it will get me out to the limits of the round.

Website? and any experience with them?

Or as they refer to them...Open Collimating Reflex Sights. I have the digital version mounted on a Mossberg 590A1 and a buddy's got the same one on a Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull. With that, I would definetly say they've been well tested in the recoil department. Both of us purchased them (different times) in the Bargain Cave at Cabela's for less then $100. The only problem I've ever had is ocassionally the reticle will change when you take a shot. Now I don't mean it'll change each time you pull the trigger...just the first time you turn it on and take your shot it'll "advance" to the next reticle pattern. Both of them exibit this behavior BTW. Really just a VERY minor annoyance to me as I'm not expecting EOtech/Aimpoint quality at this price.

Other than that I have no complaints all things considered.
1) Appears to be well built, nothing flimsy feeling about it, mounts up solid.
2) Hold's it's zero.
3) 5 different reticle patterns. 2 MOA dot, crosshairs, crosshairs + dot, etc.
4) Brightness setting from barely there to bright enough to see in sunlight.
5) Fairly low profile.
6) Buttons are easy to get at.
7) Had the same battery in it for a couple of years now with moderate use and still going strong.
8) Wide open field of view, even more so then my Eotech. The thin ring around the window completley disappears.
9) Made in America
10) If it turns out to be a lemon...2 year warranty.

No idea if magnifiers would work with this sight, don't see why they wouldn't, just never tried it. This sights tailor made IMO for the guy looking to put a red dot on his 2nd tier builds. I'm sure that somewhere out there someone's had one of these and had a totally different experience and would say it's not worth the box it comes in...but that can be true with just about anything.

100 dollars really puts a unrealistic limitation on your procuement plans. It is all but impossible to find something that works and is reliable for that price. You end up wasting $100 if that's the case. Even the Burris Fast Fire with a piccatiny/weaver mount will cost $180+. It would probably work fine though. I'm trying to figure out a way to "shade" mine because as they come from the factory the dot is too bright for conditions IMO.
