Barrett has released 60 of the REC7 rifles, mine is one the way. I hope to have it Friday (May 30). Contact your dealer if you are after one. I saw one on Gunbroker, it lasted a day. Good hunting!

I got mine just waiting on my ACOG and looking for a grip pod for it
I have the Barrett M468 with an ACOG on it that I haven't shot yet, because our only legal range is halfway to Miami and in the summertime you get covered by mosquitoes in about 15 seconds because its out in the everglades

The legs on the LE model don't have the steel inserts. Supposedly it can still hold a 180 LB person, while the regular one can hold a 250 or so LB person. I don't plan on ever standing on my AR so I can care less. Besides, I only weigh 160 LB now so I'm good to go. LOL.

Paulo,

Are you sure that the LE version doesn't have steel inserts? I just got a polymer model and it has the steel inserts. Looking on their website, they only mention two models...aluminum and polymer and the polymer has the exact specifications as the one on Botach.

I noticed you have the grip pod on your new build (Great looking rifle BTW!!!). If you deploy your grip pod, you can see the steel inserts on the insides of the legs...at least you can on mine.

There are now three models:
1. Aluminum (GPS01). $?
2. Polymer (GPS02). $149.
3. Polymer (LE Model). $70-$99.

No inserts in mine.

Yes, it showed up om May 30. Serial number 000003X, with 1 mag, manual, lock and sight ajustment tool. I put a Leupold CQ/T with LaRue mount on it.

It looks good, no range time yet. I also aquired a number of Barret mags, very similar to the HK 5.56 super mag (shorter term). The rifle looks well made, just as you see in the magazine articles, but a LMT stock will not fit on the Barrett tube.

I called Barrett and asked, changing the tube would be OK. Also asked about a tritium front/rear sight, they thought that would be a good idea for something to sell in their web store (gee, you think so???).

All for now, bought a SIG 556 Commando and trying to figure out BIUS and optics......the BUIS that come on the SIG 556 suck so bad that SIG should offer a rebate so you can buy aftermarket sights...
