For the 68, just use the H4198 re loading info. If you have a good barrel, work up to 29.5 GR with the 90 GR bullets.

Paulo,

Would IMR 4198 work in 6.8 w. 90 - 110gr? I ask because I have IMR4198 and H322 on hand in bulk. I use IMR4198 for 45-70 and 450Marlin.

The imr 4198 is different than the H4198.Her are some loads for the IMR 4198
90 gr hp = 23.5 - 26.2 the 26.2 is compressed
100 gr jhp = 22.5 - 25.0 the 25.0 is compressed
110 gr vmax = 21.4 - 23.8

For your barrel, just use the H4198 info and drop it by 1GR.
90 GR bullets: 27.6 GR.
110 GR bullets: 24.5 GR.

Here's an accurate load for 90gr TNT's and RE7... 27.5gr, wolf SR primer, OAL 2.30, vel. 2940 avg from my 16" Kotonics 11:1 barrel -- group size .168!

I just reloaded some 55g 223 with RE7.
I went to the range last night and forgot the ammo box with them in it. I will tell you the results this afternoon. You can't get top velocity with RE7, but it should shoot ok. My sierra book list 21.5 grains as the max and their accuracy load. The load data is higher for bolt guns so we might be able to go higher in a 556 or wyld chamber.

I loaded up 20 with 21.5g. I will check back in in a while to give you some results.

I just got back from testing some loads in 556 for you. I used 21.5g RE7, Hornady 55 grain soft point, lake city brass, CCi primers. I shot them out of a double star m4 16" 1 in 9 twist chrome lined upper. No malfunctions. Brass around 3 o'clock. I shot 50 rounds. Chrono results follow...

1)2902
2)2871
3)2879
4)2821
5)2855

I ran 3 5-shot strings and they all were close to these. In the last string I had 2 that were higher 2914 and 2920. These were all just loaded on my 550b. The powder wasn't individually weighed per case. Just progressive ammo.
