Nosler's 115 gr Custom Comp bullet give similar results out of my ARP as the Hornady 110 gr BTHP.
This would be my choice, but they are only infrequently available and often for a very limited time before the supply sells out. I wish I could find 90 gr Gold Dots at a regular frequency.Hard to beat the 90g gold dot pulls.
What he said. It would be nice to have a 90-100gr medium size game bullet at around or under $20 a hundred to load for general purpose. This would be my choice, but they are only infrequently available and often for a very limited time before the supply sells out. I wish I could find 90 gr Gold Dots at a regular frequency.
Don't need to work one up for the 110 Hornady. 28.5 gr. of 2200 sparked by a #41 primer is already a proven load, and a known accurate performer. That's been well known for several years, with minor tweeks of a couple tenths up or down for some guys. No need to reinvent the wheel. So, I'm trying to figure out what bullet I want to chose to be my general purpose range / critter load. So far I have loads accurate enough to please me with both 90TNT and 110 Sierra Pro Hunter. Last one I'm thinking about working up a load for is 110 Hornady BTHP. My thoughts with the last one is possibly I could have an easier time with it at 400 yards when messing around at the range. It will be a range bullet first, but I'd still like to pick one that I could use in a pinch on coyotes and personal protection. No large predators in my area except for the extremely rare cougar. Ideally I'm trying to find only one load for this purpose.
The Gold Dots seem to be readily available in factory loaded rounds but I haven't seen any of the pulled Gold Dot bullets for sale. Sure wish they would offer them as a component.Hard to beat the 90g gold dot pulls.
I have spoken directly with Speer about offering them as components. The Gold Dots seem to be readily available in factory loaded rounds but I haven't seen any of the pulled Gold Dot bullets for sale. Sure wish they would offer them as a component.
