It looks like I will have an opportunity to buy some older style PRI 25 round magazines. Does anyone have any experience with these? They have the Magpul followers. Is there any issue with these type that I should be aware of.

They made the new style for a reason (I assume). Please advise.

I have two of the 15 rounders and they work great. I've had them for 2 years.

Any known issues with the spring with the 25 rd mags? For example, will I only be able to load them with 10 rds so the cartridges feed correctly?

The only possible issue is that they can be tight and may not drop free, which can be due to the mag or the magwell on the lower. I have no problems with mine.

The ones with blue followers( Gen I) have worked fine for me, the non-waffle mags with green magpul followers(gen II) also work.

I know the new style waffle mag is supposed to drop free more reliably,
but have had better luck with the older style dropping free.
I mentioned that to Dave Dunlap of PRI and he said "Really?"
