Here is my problem I have a sun devil pistil lower i need an upper for and I have a chance to get one of the few Diablo 6.8SPC uppers that will be built but it is almost 2 grand I am not sure if i want to spend 2g's on a novelty upper or just save the cash ?? or get a cheaper upper I can not decide?

Save it... or get something else... Even though they are extremely badass, I don't think its a novelty worth $2K...

i think the Diablo would be a waste on a pistol lower, it needs a good stock to let it scream! If you got the cash and want it, get it.

Here in RI they do not allow SBRs i am trying to find land in NH or mane so i can have an adders up there so i can get SBRs and a silencer. would love to have a LWRC PSD =)

I paid 180 for a Cardinal 12.5 1/11 barrel, 95 for FSC30, 95 for upper w/feedramps, about 250 for BCG, 75 for YHM flip up GB. What's that? 695? Take your pick on forends and buffers. Easy to keep it under a thousand and I'm starting another one. Heck of a pistol.

save your money and just build a good custom upper to yuor liking.

I am in the same boat her buddy. No silencers and no sbr's... I am looking at getting land elsewhere to mitigate the stupid phuk CA laws.

I'm a fan of ADDAX and the Diablo upper, but to me, they abandoned the 6.8 version. I'd like to have one too. If they're not supporting the model, maybe the LWRC PSD upper, or the new Spike's Tactical 7.5 inch 6.8 would be a better choice. Ask Tom what that Spike's upper would build out for. I bet it's half of the ADDAX.

The Diablo 6.8 was a limited run by PWS, and they might release it again, but for time being, PWS is not building 6.8 Diablos.

The Diablo 6.8 7" upper is really nice, and it is pricey, so we only sold a handful, compared to the 5.56 models.

The 6.8 Diablo is Awsome (I own one), so we will see what PWS will do in the future, but for now, they have shelved the 6.8 Diablo 7" piston upper.

As for what I am building, most of the 6.8 users I have been speaking to are asking for 11.5", 12.5", 14.5" and 16" piston uppers, , and with our new ATAC Gas Piston Uppers the cost of the 6.8 version is much less than the $2k Diablo 6.8.

Our new ATAC Gas Piston Uppers are based on the Diablo piston system, but re-designed to work in a Carbine platform.

I currently have one version on our website priced at $1450 using a 16" WOA (Shilen) barrel, and I will be releasing another 6.8 model that will be equipped with a Chrome Lined 16" 1:11 twist 4 groove barrel that will be priced at $1399.

I can cut these barrels down for custom lengths of 11.5, 12.5 and 14.5 for an extra $50.00.

Plus, I am going to be building some custom ATAC GPU's in 6.8 with the Side Charging Upper (I am currently machining some to work with the new piston system, and I will post pics when I get them done in approx. 3-4 weeks).

Thanks for the update. I stand corrected then. ADDAX still has short barrel 6.8s for pistol or SBR builds. I liked the compactness of the Diablo, but if these others are hundreds less what's a few inches? An 11.5 pistol or SBR would still be compact and maneuverable with more velocity too.

We found that the 11.5" SBR/Pistol type barrel length to be a really sweet spot that meets many of the requirements for certain LE/Military users that want the extra hitting power/velocity, plus installing a sound suppressor is much easier without any interference from the rails.
