Hey All,
Just thought I'd share a range report regarding my recently purchased and mounted 1-4X20 Nikon African scope.
I put it on my RRA 16" Mid with a Burris PEPR mount (which I am very impressed with) and took it to the nearby revamped WW2 range (200-600 yard).
IMHO, it is a true 1X scope @ 1X. You need to play with the quick focus on the eye piece to get the true 1X for your eyes, but once dialed in, its great. I used some big trees on my property to get the 1x set up right.
On to the range...
It took a little bit to get it sighted in, the 1/2 MOA clicks don't fine tune like a 1/4 MOA click, but it works well enough. The glass was clear, and the heavy #4 reticule made both eyes open sighting and firing a breeze.
Once it was sighted in @4x I was able to group 1-1.5" @ 100 easily, and essentially tore out the inside of the diamond on the target at 1X. It stayed spot on. The two caveats, as this firearm shoots better than I do, is that I free floated the barrel with a rifle length YHM customizable handguard, with a low profile gas block under the forearm, and it was off a bipod.
I took this firearm to the 200+ yard range, and @ 200 on 4X I was able to keep all of my shots within the 10 and X rings on the match targets.
Needless to say, I love the combo of this scope and the 6.8 round.
Just thought I'd share.
Here's a picture of the setup so you can see how its all put together.

Nice build, and thanks for the feedback and review. Some have asked about that scope recently, and now we have some feedback. Nice job.
