Gentlemen, I am new to the AR builds so I'll keep this short. I would like to get input as to combinding a Stag arm lower receiver with a titan MK68 18" bbl. Would this be a good combo to start with any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Stag lowers, or any of the major manufacturers' lowers will work fine. I believe the offerings from Titan Armory and AR15Performance are 16" uppers. If this is what you are looking at, they are very good choices.

I use billet uppers and lowers... I just like them.... I try to get them from the same manufacturer as I dont like mixing and matching.... Sun Devils are serving me well as the lowers have an adjustment screw to tighten up the fit and eliminate any play between the upper and lower...

I like the spiders all over spikes lowers

Also....Spiders are everywhere on Spike's uppers, chrome bolt carriers, forends, new M4 buttstocks, and on and on.

I'm looking at a spiders stripped lower and using a LPK from DPMS, would this be a good combo for starters?
If you mean one of Spike's lowers (you said spiders), you'll be in good shape. They are very popular. I have two myself and will end up with more. Spike's has some cool laser engravings for the receivers if you wanted to personalize them. I think you can email them a graphic and they can have it laser engraved for you. DPMS parts kits are fine.

Just an FYI.. there are only a handful of companies in the US making lower receivers for everyone else. Many Spike's receivers have been manufactured by LAR which is one of the big players in receivers. Here's a link to ARFCOM about lowers.

I was a newbee too when I first started. I think i used a pair of needle nose pliers, a Phillips head screw driver, and a razor blade and thats about it when I installed my LPK. I wish I would have read the extended do it yourself on arfcom that suggested using a pair of vice grips. Would have saved a lot of time. I will say this, but a Brass punch set, it will save you some time, and has a lot of uses in the world of firearms. Plus a basicd Smith&Wesson set is like 20 bucks or so.

If your a visual person like me these can help:
http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/GunTec ... t=1&i=1103

It has good instruction. But I don't have all the tools that they use either. It just takes a little brainwork.
Bushmaster offers a standard armor kit with everything plus some for about $80 but you copuld hit Northern tool or somthing like that and find most of it for less.

Thanks for the advise guys it's much appreciated :D I'm hoping to get on the list for one of the uppers from Titan Armory once they start taking orders again. From what I've been seeing here on this site it's the upper that makes all the difference.
I was also wondering if the LoPro gasblock would work with the rifle forarm.
