I have a stag arms 6.8 spc I’ve been loading for with great results. I’ve taken the 110 gr vmax to 700 yards on a 6” gong so far. Looking to learn the top choices for bullets and powders and I go.

Thread on terminal performance. AA2200 is a good all-around powder. H335 is a good one for heavy bullets and RL7 for lighter.

In, I'm new as well, trying to find the best source for a complete upper. I have a RRA 5.56, and want to expand it to be able to reliably take deer and hogs with the 6.8. It's clearly a MUCH better round than the 6.5 groupies will admit.

Best length barrel, best bullet weights, and scopes?

With 12.5” 27.2gr a2200, 2369 mv 120 sst
18” a2200 27.2 a2200, 2503 mv 120 sst
using new brass, i think 30 sd if i remember
sized 27.4-5gr a2200 2444 on 12.5”, and 2564 on 18” with 120 sst.
Per strelock-pro, sst should open up to 300 and 350 yards with 27.2 gr on 120sst.
I am a new reloader, and stocked up on sst after taking game this season. Just sharing my experience. good luck.

At 5,000 plus feet elev, a 20 inch barrel is definitely good to 400 and change. Wind becomes the limiting issue for some locations so velocity is your friend.
