New to 6.8 SPC

Can anyone give me some good reliable complete 6.8 manufacturers and possible prices. I am a Deputy Sheriff and am looking for a 6.8 that I can patrol with and also take out during recreational hunting of deer and hogs and some plinking, of course. I would like to stay with a 16" barrel and a 1in12 twist per the recommendations that it is the most accurate for the spin of the bullet. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I'd get the X-Treme upper when they are available.
You want the improved SPC II chamber or DMR chamber and 1:11 or 1:12 twist.

The Xtreme upper would be an outstanding choice. $599 complete!! You just pin it to a lower of your choice. It's easy to assemble a lower, or buy a complete lower from LMT, Stag (CMT), RRA, Sabre Defense, Bushmaster, Armalite, etc. for $300-$500 depending on stock options and trigger choice.

Noveske makes a great upper as well.

If you have to buy a complete rifle, turnkey, the newer production Stag 6.8 rifles have SPC II chambers, CL 1:11 twist barrels, but make sure you get one of the new ones with the barrel marked 1:11. If you have the budget and want a piston upper then LWRC would fit the bill. RCrandall (LE Officer) owns a few of them and recommends them highly. Paulosantos who chimed in above is a LE professional as well.
I wonder why Rock River builds their mid length rifles with the 1/10 twist barrels. I noticed on their site that they still have a 1MOA group. How accurate is that statement?

Their barrels are generally very accurate.

RRA has a 1:11 barrel project underway. The current market situation has delayed the 1:11 barrels but they are coming.

RRA knows their 1:10, SPC II Chrome Moly barrels will handle the SSA combat loads so they're good to go with them until the 1:11 barrels come to market.
