hello all,
I'm mostly interested in hunting with bolt rifles (deer and coyote) on my lease in sw Georgia and I was thinking about getting another one in 22-250.I already have a remington LTR in .223 that's very accurate so I've decided to send my ruger mini 30 (which is very inaccurate)to accuracy systems(they guarantee moa) in Colorado for a makeover. When I saw that the 6.8 spc was an option I thought that might be a good choice because I don't have one.(my best reason for buying a gun)Anyway, to try to shorten a long story I came across this site by accident while looking for information on the 6.8 and it looks like theres alot of good information here.Has anyone had any dealing with accuracy systems, inc. or would I be better off spending that money (about $900 ) on a new ar rifle? My brother and I are just getting set up to handload so this site looks like it will be a great help in that department.
thank you

Welcome aboard. I can't help you on the Accuracy Systems question, but I would rather have a 6.8SPC AR than anything else. For that money, you can get a nice RRA 6.8SPC that will be perfect for hunting and just about anything else such as Home Defense or plinking. The AR platform is one of the most versatile systems available.

I second everything Paulosantos said.
For the money a RRA 6.8 SPC is a great value. I love hunting predators, the 6.8 will work for hogs to coyotes with enough umph to also handle Whitetail with out question.

What kind of out of the box accuracy could I expect from that rifle?I would want a fixed stock and medium heavy barrel.

If you plan on reloading, you can get Sub MOA with a good scope.

If you go with a barrel from Ko-Tonics or AR15 Performance, you can get submoa all day long factory ammo included if you use the Silver State Armory Pro Hunter load too, at least thats what I have seen on a regular basis.

If you reload, expect fantastic results.
