Hey folks,

Awesome board you all have. Thank you for having it. I am in Jacksonville Florida by way of Austin TX and the United states Marine Corps. Any way, I have had a build sitting in my room with no bolt and no barrel for about a week and wasn't sure which way to go chamber wise. As awesome as the 6.8 is I was afraid of ammo availability. I went ahead and jumped on one of ARP's 6.8 SPC II barrels, a 18" mid-weight, last night. Although none of you were trying, and my buddies were/are .300 blk dolts, you talked me into a 6.8 I am sure I will love it. Now, if we could import some pigs to my area I will really be in business.

Welcome from just North of the state line in Kingsland!
Welcome. Good choice with the 68.
I'm at the bottom of the state. It's
like being on an Island down here.
You can't leave the state easy. 380
miles out for me. At least you can
hunt over in Georgia pretty easy.
Welcome

You will really like this forum. Great guys and good information. I am in the Northern part of the Sunshine State. There are some hog hunts in Perry Florida (Taylor County). Of course, the ones I see advertised charge a fee. That is not too far from you. You will really like the 6.8. WELCOME !!!!
Welcome to the Forum Elwood!! You are at the right place for all things 6.8!

BTW, last winter an older, experienced gentleman told me some of the best hog hunting area in the southeast was around Okeechobee! At the time he stated there were 25 outfitters within a 40 mile radius of the area.

Maybe some members here that are familiar with the area can shed some light.....

:)

That is going to be different for me. Back home you go to the buddy whos ranch has the most hog wallows and go to work.

My barrel is due in fro ARP on saturday and my magazines, well they are a in limbo with LCJ. Hopefully I get those soon as that will be the only thing keeping me from putting a zero on it at Gateway next week.

Thanks for the welcom guys!

Yep. That's where I would go to hunt hogs when I lived in Fla. But there's places up north too, panhandle and etc. Hogs can be found just about everywhere except maybe downtown Miami!
Arp = best

You made a wise decision(s).

Great forum; great caliber; great folks; great barrel!

Welcome from the Lost Pines of Texas!
Welcome to the fray...
Welcome from down by the Suwannee River.

Pick up a copy of Woods'N Water. There are lots of places offering pig hunts. Okeechobee is a long hike from Jax. There was one outfit near Perry called Two Guys and a Hog that had reasonable rates.
welcome to the group. I go to gateway often and check this forum occasionally. if all you will need is a mag I will be happy to let you knock the paint off of one.
I appreciate the offer. I went ahead and bought a couple bushmaster 10 rounders from cdnn. They should be here in time.
Hope you guys don't mind. Here is the rifle. The barrel shipped fast. Thank you Constructor and crew.
