Hi everyone. I am a 68forums newbie that floated over from AR15.com. My dream 6.8 SPC project has finally gotten off the ground. All I need now is a bolt carrier(along with 1,000s of others apparently) and my 6.8 upper will be complete. My lower is still stripped, but I'm going to borrow one of my other AR lowers until I can get the other one completed.

So far my upper consists of this:

WOA 16" SS 1-11 SPCII chamber barrel
YHM low profile gas block
YHM rifle-length customizable free-float handguard
Vltor VC-301 flash suppressor
Stag bolt
BCM flattop upper receiver

To be added soon:
bolt carrier
LaRue optic mount
Nikon Monarch riflescope

I started this project almost three years ago and shelved it for something else. With the aid of hindsight I am glad I waited. Now I'm anxious to put some bullets through it!

Hey, what part of North MS are you guys in?

I got my bolt carrier Friday the 26th, fired a few rounds through it on Sunday using flip-up iron sights. Now I'm waiting on my LaRue mount. Maybe by deer season it will all be complete.

We might just have to go to the range sometime. I am a member at blue and gray, its a great place to shoot.
I'm up for it when I get a free minute :p

I've thought about joining the B&G but haven't gotten around too it. I was kinda worried about what the drive is like.

I got way too used to Starkville and having the SGC 10 minutes down the road....

Its not a bad drive. It is a lot closer than skyline, and not much further of a drive than swan creek. You just drive down 431, and its right by guntersville dam. It is a whole lot safer than either of those other two....thats a fact. It's also well maintained, level, and has proper target stands. It was worth it to me.

Really good to know that. Swan Creek has been my preferred range but there tends to be a preponderance of thugs and morons out there when I go. If B&G isn't much farther I'm gonna have to join up.
