Was at my local car dealer getting a car wash and picking up a part for the weekend. Just happened to be wearing a SSA shirt.
The parts guy asked me about them and I mentioned that they were the 6.8 experts.

To my surprise he said that he was talking to some guys at a local gun shop about the 6.8 and they were very positive. He was very interested and we chatted about twist and chambers.

Just goes to show, you never know who a potential 6.8 can be. I, of course, pointed him here.

I just had a huge conversation with some Marines at helicopter show yesterday about the 6.8. They were mentioning how they wanted to build 6.8's and i was mentioning that they could have mine for the 20k parachute & Schmidt & Bender optics on there table at their booth.

I'm always advertising the 6.8 and so far have been able to get three fellow officers to get rifles.

When I get to the range, I'm always meeting someone, usually a GI who's heard of a 6.8 but hasn't really seen one. It's great when you hear "Hey Dave, This guy's got a 6.8. This is what we ought to be using" and then the fun of letting them fire it. "This damn thing doesn't kick any more than what we got." I get a big charge out of that. Actually it's the same way I
learned about it. Always meeting a few fine soldiers like that. Of course there's the the time I met Infidel at the range.
Boy I felt outclassed. That was an awesome rifle he had. What it's all about.

Its funny you mention this stuff becuase I have weaseled my way into a few conversations regarding the 6.8 and always end up attracting other owners and lovers... I end up seeing the same old man at the gunshow who has a Robinson XCR in 6.8 and loves that thing to death... we always end up bitching together about them not bringing enough 6.8 and then I offer him a few tidbits and resources and we part ways... Met another guy at Big5 who had a 6.8(undesirable chamber) and religiously killed bears with his... he and his wife love the meat over pig.... he told me he kills those phukers clean... He wanted to get his son a 6.8 who is over in the stan... He has a dpms and I think I talked him into buying an xtreme for himself and his son... who knows... Every time I am around guns or shooters and mention the 6.8 its sparks something... I think having the right rig helps project the confidence that draws people in... bullshyt specs and crappy builds dont emit that frequency...

Went to the range the other day to test some handloads and met a guy that knew what the hell I was talking about, he even knew about the right chamber for the 6.8. He sounded very interested and I rattled off some good info and ballistics info to get him pointed in the right direction. All the 5.56 boys would jump when the Lmt got going with some stout handloads and the ole FSC30 w/ 14'' barrel.
