Would any of you guys that have chrongraphs be willing to test a few loads and report back here with velocities?

These are hot and compressed loads and should only be used in SPCII or DMR chambers and 11 or 12 twist barrels.
85gr TSX loaded to 2.3" with 30.5gr of RE7 start at 29 and work up in .5 gr increments stop if you get swipes.

110gr Prohunter loaded to 2.3" with 30.5 gr of 10X, start at 28.5 and work up in .5 gr increments stop if you get swipes.

I have seen certain barrels producing quite a bit more vel than others and just want some others out there to confirm this or tell me different.
thanks

How big a string? 5 shot,7shot,? Just ordered the chronograph so shoould be able to in a couple of weeks.

Could do the Barnes 85gr got a couple of hundred of them. I don't have any sierra's and can't find them.

I usually get a few eratic vels with the first few shots, I use a 22 pistol to warm the chrono up then 5 shots is plenty. I the last 2 weeks I have had time to play since I don't have any damn parts. I have run the barrels side by side more than any other time and it seems to me the Xtreme is producing much higher velocity than any other barrel, I do not have a chrome MK68 to test with it though. Every 11x4 is much slower, even the 12x3 is 10 fps slower on average. off to test some more

I hope the MK68 is just as quick.....

were you testing a 20 inch or a 16 inch 1-12 that was 10 or so FPS slower?

I will run some moly loads next to them since no one has the data on it either. It will take me a couple of weeks since I will be busy here shortly but I can do the Barnes version.

I'll see if I have any PH's left. If so, I'll try to get some loaded up this week and tested for you.

Sure is nice being able to walk out my back door and shoot.

Thanks guys.

A, all the barrels I tested were 16" because the Xtreme and Recons are 16. I was just comparing rifling designs.
Sounds good, I was just making sure since I have that 20 1-12 coming and I was worried that my 16 inch would get more velocity.... :D

Yep, have most of a box left. I'll try to get it done this weekend in my copious spare time. Luckily I have brass prepped already. It might slip to next week depending on the weekend.

There is no hurry, I just like to hear about the velocities everyone is getting from handloading.
To me it is kind of like hot rodding a car and taking it to the strip.

Harrison -

I've managed to lose some parts for the reloader in the move. I might be able to find a local place with parts today, if so, I'll pick them up and get started.

Sorry about the delay.

Got the chronograph up and running. If it will ever stop raining here I can get out. It is looking like beginning of next week no chance this weekend with it being M-day.

I appreciate your efforts, there is no hurry. I would like to hear the results to see if everyone or anyone can duplicate my loads and velocities. If only one person does it then people are sceptical about those results and I know there are guys out there with other firearms that can not get that vel or use that load, they don't believe me.
I think everyone here would like to see more reloading data from other members.
I know Marine, HTR, Tim W, Murderman and a few others have witnessed it but maybe 5 isn't enough.
