My first 6.8 build

Hello to all and hope you guys have some insight that can help me out. First off, I am sure other's have asked and I checked but I did not see what I was looking for in the short period I have been on here so far. :wink:

Let me run down what I have so far,

I have a Cardinal forge marked upper, I have just ordered a Essential Arms 6.8 marked lower, I am going to be using a Daniel Defense M4 12.0 FSPM rail for starters. I have an unknown semi-auto carrier. I was looking into the CMMG 16 inch mid length barrel for this build. I was also going to check if they can match a 6.8 bolt as well. I read that the 6.8's require head spacing if it is to be a new build or am I mistaken on this? What would be a recoommended buffer to use for this? An H or H2?

Welcome chuck. The CMMG are good barrels. Also check out WOA, Denny's guns for SS barrels. If you want a lightweight barrel, check out the Extreme Barrels.

A matched bolt would be nice, but most bolts are all standard and will work with no problems. If you want, you can buy a Monson no-go gauge just to be safe. I would start with a regular carbine buffer first and see where the brass ejects. Ideally you want it to eject at the 3-4 oc'clock position. If it ejects at the 1 or 2 o'clock position, then try a heavier buffer.
