I have seen my share of the AR-15 family. from M16A2's to M4A1's to MK-12 mod 1 and mod 2's. these four are the best I have ever used. All are build by Compass Lake Engineering with Douglas 1/7 twists. I will say this, you may spend more on a barrel brand, but with these Douglas barrels I would not waste the money.

I called Frank White and asked for the best contour he could do for some 800yds and under gun's that are light and a tack driver. So he built these.

All of them are as follows:
.223 Douglas 1/7 twist
Different MagPul Stocks
JP triggers
Daniel Defense LITE hand-guards 12" on the 16" barrels and 14" DD-lite on the 18 and 20 inch barrels. I went with Lefty's and righty's due to the fact I am a true left handed shooter and I could have students that might need a lefty AR-15 one day.

ALL RIFLES shoot SUB-MOA like 3 inch groups @ 500yds. EXCEPT the 16" with the ACOG, too hard to hold it under MOA @ 500, but did do MOA @ 500yds.

16" Stag Lefty upper ACOG

16" Accu-Point 3-9 Mil-Dot

18" Stag Lefty upper Horus 3-12 Hawk 14 inch DD lite rail

20" IOR-3-18 FFP 14 inch DD lite rail

I shot FGMM 69grn SMK ammunition, and also some GA Arms 68grn ammunition. I have some 77 SMK setting here and will use it ASAP on my next day off.

anyhow, take your poison all are the BEST.

Do you use the Horus reticle? How do you like it?

It's an interesting set up that reticle they have. No need for turrets. Just takes a new way of thinking.
Yes I do, as you can see here the H425 is just right for a AR-15

I run a 300yd ZERO, so each red dot is my DOPE for 100, 200, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 yds

With running a300yd ZERO I can maximize the H425 for longer range windage better. I think its a waste to ZERO @ 100yds with this optic. On a .308win I would run a 400yd ZERO and just hold under from 400 and closer.

Many company's offer the Horus reticle. I think the Hawk is the best bang for the buck out there due to the fact, if you have not used the system and want to try it, its a $500 scope.

Buy this one, try it out, if you like it, keep it, or sale it to fund a higher end brand with a Horus in it.

S&B and leupold do a production run with the ret or do you have to call and ask for it?
With S&B and Leupold you have to call and ask for it. I know the guys down at SFSC have them and like them alot.

On the Horus website you can see a demo tape of the using a MK-4 Leupold.
