Loaded up 50 rounds of the 30.2 grains of 10X over the 110 accubonds (only if your rifle can handle it ect ect)
Either way hit the range to zero the 20 inch 1-12 from Ar performance for this load since I plan on using it as my primary big game load (minus for pigs which i plan on using the 85's TSX)unless the 99 GS bullets show up some time soon...

They are doing on average 2833 out of my barrel so I typed it all into JBM and got the info I wanted. Hit the range and shot 3 at 50 yards to get close then out to 100 and shot another 3 then out to 200 to verify the 200 yard zero that I wanted. first shots were about 2 inches low so I clicked it up 4 (1/4 MOA clicks at 100 yards) and set three more into the target those looked pretty good (right at 1.75 inches or so, nothing amazing but I am still working on my precision shooting) Either way I had 3 6 inch steel disks set up and I hit 3 out of 3 after the adjustment so I figure that will work for now.... that load carries 1K worth of energy out to 400 yards with some to spare so I am not worried about being under gunned with it. Now I need to see how it does in the 16 inch...

And I painted it a few days ago so I figured I could throw a new pic up for you guys :D

It doesnt match the green as well and I am not 100 percent on it but I think it should match the fall foliage a little better....

Looks good Adam. The paint looks fine. All the lines are broken and the silhouette is easily concealable.

I like that the load carries 1000 ft lbs to 400 yards. That's impressive out of an AR. That's the performance I'm looking for when I'm hunting.

I think I'll have a couple 16's then go to 20 inches.

This is the one with the Sightron SIII isn't it? How did the scope perform for you?

Yes it is the sightron III I love this thing. I need to use the focus (parralax adjustment) on the left side when I move from different ranges but it is convienent so I dont mind. the Glass is as clear as any of my other scopes as far as I can tell and the clicks seem to be just about dead on at 1/4 inch at 100 yards.

I am happy that I traded "up" from my 18 inch 1-114 groove AR performance to a 20 inch 1-12 3 groove from Ar performance. I just didnt see much advantage the 18 I had over the 16 I had on order so I jumped up to a 20. It doesn't seem much if any heavier even with the PRS stock on it. and I could easily throw the UBR stocked lower onto this upper and be fine also.

I need to chrono the same loads out of my recon to see what I can get. with the Eotech and the 3x magnifier I dont see myself shooting past 250 (which is still 75 yards further then my longest shot on deer in my area to date) or so but it would be nice to know my effective range.
Tomorrow I hope to shoot some TNT loads I am trying to work up and i want to load some TSX's tonight if I get a chance.

Paint job looks very nice. What length are you seating your rounds to? I might need to order some PRI mags so I can go a little longer. Did you have any swipes with 30.2 grains of 10x? I think the accubonds might be what I go to. When I seat my pro hunters my die seats off the tip not the ogive. So my ogive readings with my ogive adapter are giving big variances. Some of the lead tips are longer and shorter. If not I need to go with a die that seats with the ogive. One with a bushing.

A, nice looking stick as always! I have one of H's 18" 1-12 3 groove that is 99% complete sitting in the corner of my office waiting on the carrier which should be here this week (Thanks Ben from Bison Arms). Anyways moral of the story I will be working on loads shortly and seeing as we have the same barrel less 2 inches did you have any pressure signs from these loads?

Jason I am loading around 2.300-05 I can't get a good reading with the calipers. I load 5 rounds and try to load them into the PRI's if they load thats what I stick with if they are to long I bump them down till I can load them up :D I have no swipes at 30.2, I worked up to 30.8 (H has said 30.5 is max) of 10X and still had no swipes but the accuraccy wasn't any better then the 30.2 and the velocity was only 30 FPS more so I figured I would stick with the 30.2 and save some wear and tear and a little bit of powder :D

I am using the RCBS seating die, I dont know if that makes a difference but when one round loads to a length they all seem to be pretty darn close. I want to call RCBS and see if they make a micro adjustment upgrade for the seating die, that would be a lot nicer then guessing with the screw.

I'm going to order a couple PRI mags just to use for hunting. When I need the extra performance. I've had a set of lee dies since I got my first bolt action 6.8 several years ago. They were the only ones I could get at the time. Boy they suck. I have over 30 sets of dies and these are the only set I ever have trouble with.

I seated some rounds longer and single shot them and I had no pressure signs. It's amazing that little bit helps. I'm shooting 29.8 of 10x and pro hunters. Loaded to 2.287. 30 grains get me right over 2800fps and that will be awesome for hunting.

I use PRI's for everything but I really like the 10 and 5 round mags since the 10's are great for bench shooting and the 5's are all we are allowed to use for HUNTING in a semi auto rifle with a detachable mag.

Now I have to shoot and maybe paint the recon..... I dont know though, I kinda like her the way she is now.

Made up some TNT with RE7 loads, TSX's with the RE7 and some TNT's with the 10X since H says I can get more velocity in the 20 with the 10X so we are going to see....

Tim what loads did you use with the 80 GS bullets?

Nice report. Good looking stick.
What material did you use for the camo job. Krylon? what stencils on the pattern?

I used the krylon flat camo colors, light brown dark brown and green. The stencils were just ferns I pulled from the edges of my yard :D
I started with a coat of the light brown and then taped the ferns down and sprayed the green and the dark brown but I didnt like how it came out so I then restuck the ferns on there and jhust barely sprayed with the light brown again to give it the shadowing look. I think next time I will use the dark brown as the base and then blend the green and light brown.

Check the RCBS Gold Medal match die stuff from RCBS. You can mix and match parts for wildcatting, and they have the seating die micro adjusting stuff as well.

I like the rig a lot. I can not wait to get my Noveske 16" 1-12" shooter up and running. I just need a bit more funds and some time to play with it...

That is an exceptional looking rig, you have a right to be proud of that, I know I would be..I have an older Sightron SII 4x16x42 scope mounted on a Rem Tactical .223, they are a good scope for the money..I also have a Sightron red dot and wanted to purchase an extra set of rings for it, so I contacted them and darned if they didn't send them for free and I wanted to buy them..Companies that do those things get repeat business..

I talked to RCBS and they dont offer a match seating die for the 6.8 SPC..... I may have to look into another companies. The RCBS die set I have now is working fine I just wish I had a micro setting knob on the seating die it would make changes from different bullets a lot faster.
