What is the closest rifle to the MK 11 the Marines use. I am looking for a recreation, not an off the shelf .308. I believe Knights Arm makes the MK 11 but from my understanding they dont sell to the public yet. Can I piece one near as possible to the MK 11. I like they SASS but kinda pricey. Any help appreciated as where I am from no one else has any of the black rifles so all my help comes from you guys which is probably better.

I believe Knights Armament and pricey go hand in hand...If you want the name, you have to pay to play... :) :) :)

BTW, over on Knights website:

They say that "The US Navy version, MK11 MOD-0 (official US Navy nomenclature code for SR-25)..."

Just get their SR-25!!! Great rifle with great specs...

If you want the closest to the actual Mk11 then KAC's SR25 is the brand to chase after. Just like some argue that to have a real M-4 you have to have the Colt product.

If you're after the look of a Mk11 then you can also look at DPMS SASS, and Armalite's SASS.

I've seen the DPMS SASS at DFW area gun shows for $1700-1800. While not a true Mk11, it was a competitor in the Semi Auto Sniper System competition.

You could also buy one of the lower priced 308's and buy all the rails, stocks, etc as you go to build up the clone.

You have choices out there, just decide on which way you want to go.
