I am looking at using the new Aimpoint CompM4 on my ranch rifle and am a bit confused. It has integral rings. Do they fit onto rail suystems?

My ranch rifle has the standard Ruger fittings on the receiver and I have Burris rail adapters that fit into thiose "divots". Can I just use the Burris rail and attach the CompM4 to it?

The M4(s) has a lower mounted cylinder for the NV housingon the right side. I assume that this wopuld get in the way of ejected brass. Right?

Thanks for any help on thei in advance.

If the burris mount is designed to connect to the built in scope bases you should be fine. As for the brass hitting the scope, you may have to try it and see. I know my Ranch Rifle ejects the brass forcefully and failry level. I would think that the scope would be well clear of the brass.

Another thing you could do is shoot the rifle without the scope and have somebody watch and see how high or low the brass is going, then decide how much room you have to mount the scope.

Follow-up report. My CompM4 came with a mount system that needed a Picatinny rail. Found one at Midway, It is a neat system. Now to the range....as soon as my wife gets ver recent surgery. nby the way it sits high enough to clear any discharged cases, yet comes up naturally to my eye with a standard cheek weld.
