Our submarine crew was permanently banned from the transient barracks there in 1969.
We were on a crew flight from Rota, Spain to Charleston AFB between Christmas and New Years when the flight diverted to Rhein Main because of mechanical problems. The Air Force put us up overnight in the transient barracks. We had all the booze we were bringing back to CONUS for the holidays with us, so we had a little party.
Sailors being sailors, and particularly boat sailors, we got a little tipsy, stayed up all night, ran around the barracks in our skivvies (or less). Problem was we didn't know the Air Force used female janitors in the barracks. Evidently they had never come across a submarine crew that had been submerged for the last 60 days. No rapes - we were professionals - but lots of sexual harrassment.
After a thorough [email protected]@ chewing by the Air Force and our captain and XO, we staggered to our plane stamped "No Deposit, No Return!"
