I've got a Springfield M1A Socom 16 .308. I am looking at loading up the 130gr Barnes TTSX and was wondering if anyone had some load data? I plan on using H4895 because it is temp insensitive and has a good burn rate/pressure curve for the M14 rifle.

not my personal favorites but have tried....
130gr Barnes bullets (XLC-BT)
H-4895 48.0gr max load ; fps 3186; barrel length 24.0
Winchester cases and Federal GM 210M primers

130 gr Barnes bullets (XBT)
H-4895 47.0 gr max load ; fps 3172; barrel length 24.0
Winchester cases and Winchester LR primers

but this is where I have ended up....

130 Barnes bullets (XBT)
IMR-3031 45.0 gr max load ; fps 3150; barrel length 24.0
Winchester cases and Winchester LR primers

I read a few years ago that Varget may be too slow for the M14 operating system. I checked the M14 forums and there are guys there that use Varget for their reloading so I guess that is false. I used Varget in .223 loadins a few years ago and thought it was pretty accurate. It's one of the better Extreme powders that Hodgdon makes so I'll give it a shot.
