Load for 12.5" 308 Win??

Waiting on a stamp for a SBR in 308 Win. Have been working up loads in a 16" barrel with Varget while waiting until I can swap out to the 12.5" barrel. Got to thinking that a faster powder may be more efficient out of the shorter barrel and yield a higher velocity than a slower powder. Bullet weight range of 125-180 grains. Has anyone already done the work on this?

Tried faster powders in my 16" bAriel a and it did nothing to improve speed or performance, it actually seemed to increase the pressure signs over slower powders---12.5 may prove different --- I know someone else has an SBR 308 around here, maybe they will chime in
