I agree with Tim W when he wrote in another thread about hoping that the companies that tried to gouge us with price increases due to X-mas and Obama election will be deserted by their customers when supply finally starts to catch up with demand around Jan-Feb...

To help ensure that I don't patronize any of these businesses, I thought it would be a good idea to gather a list of companies that did such. If you have any examples of people or companies who raised their prices over the past two months for no apparent reason except to squeeze some more bucks out of their customers, I'd love to hear about it.

How much of a price hike would you consider a gouge? Me personnally, any amount qualifies. I know that Spikes upped stripped lowers by $74 but other companies went up by more than that. I've seen ads for lowers pushing $300 but can't remember company names off hand.

So spikes makes their own, doesn't depend on any supplier, and still jacked up the price. :? How nice

How about most ammunition manufacturers and distributers! Prices went up, up, up when oil and commodities went up now they continue to rise despite the fact that all of the previous mentioned have plummeted.

Sad to say, I've reduced my ammo consumption just because it's ridiculous to give in to this type of gouging! Unless I can find reloading components at reasonable prices or buy SSA I'm pretty much finished!

Hell, our own kind are going to gouge us into extinction before the Dems. even get a chance.

I think almost all the dealers are doing what they can to take advantage of the general public which is just sick. The business that were ran years ago would work it to make a profit now its to make a killing. With this going on there are not helping the situation but only making it worse.

I was at the gun show today here in Phoenix and cant believe the price jump on items in less then two months when I was at the last one!

I too was looking at purchasing some stripped lowers but they were ranging anywhere from $199-$399. I was also looking to pick up an AK-47 and was figuring around $500-$700, boy was I wrong I couldnt find a new one for less than a $1000!

I raise my hand in falling for the hype. 2 different stores told me ammo going up, better "buy now" before it does. Only thing that is hard to get, is hunting spec .223, plenty of cheap target stuff available. 9mm, 308 all seem to be unchanged. Even found 6.8 spc at the gun show for the first time. I dont load so I am sensitive to ammo prices.

Magpul prices fluctuated (17-39) over holidays, found maglevel for $19. yesterday. Saw a good deal on a Troy hand guard, $140 might jump on it.

Dealers all said economy hurting them and business at the show was down. This should moderate prices. But I am seeing M1s and some beat up Garands going for more then they were last year (900 and 1250) versus est 700-1000.
