There is an excellent little application for the iPhone that does External Ballistic Calculations. Not advocating using it as a field calculator, but more of a familiarization tool. The author has recently added factory loads for most calibers, but there are only a few for 6.8 SPC.

I wonder if SSA would be interested in sending some data to get their products into the program?

No, it's an iPhone Application.

I have iSnipe also, but Ballistic is better, provides graphic output also for comparison between loads and environmental factors. The author is updating it regularly.

You can select popular bullets, of which there is comprehensive coverage, even some I had not heard of, and provide the Muzzle velocity, sight height, lethal zone, etc and compute for your handloads or chrony data with factory fodder.

For those who don't have access to a chrony, or don't reload, just a few factory loads for the 6.8 mm are included- Hornady 110 grain and Remington 115 grain commerical loads.

Since SSA uses bullets with known BC's, all we would need is for them to provide muzzle velocities. The user can input these and save as a favorite, but it seems like it would be good marketing to get your products listed in the factory loads.

The application is very handy, far quicker to access than loading an online program or the Sierra External Ballistics CD. Nice to have it at the range, rather than printing out a sheet, forgetting it at home, wishing that you had used a different zero.

I cant be the only one who takes my laptop with me to the range.
Funny you should say that. I am just about ready for my older laptop to start making the trips and am trying to find some good downloads. Any suggestions?
